Description

As Legal and Judicial agencies transition to a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions is at the forefront, providing transcription services to various industries. We are currently seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract candidates who possess significant experience in transcribing depositions and hearings. This is a 100% remote opportunity for Independent Contractors.

You will cover content such as depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings, with an emphasis on attention to detail, familiarity with legal terminology, and excellent grammar. Your role will involve processing audio recordings while strictly adhering to style guides to produce verbatim transcripts.

As an independent contractor for VIQ Solutions, you will have the flexibility to set your own schedule and receive support from our in-office team whenever needed. We offer work availability 24/7/365 to accommodate any schedule, and those with weekend availability are particularly encouraged to apply.

Skill Requirements

  • Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription required.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides.
  • Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely.
  • Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to process extreme audio/text content (may be offensive).
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology.
  • Court reporting students will also be considered.
  • Currently, this opportunity is not available to Massachusetts or California residents.

  • Infinity foot pedal (highly recommended).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
