Venture Engineer Consultant

We are looking for a Venture Engineer. This role is for a phenomenal thinker ready to take on the challenge of ideating, designing, and building high-tech and top-science projects within the Venture Studio (VS). You will work alongside the VS Team and Founders of the Alien Group to identify trending concepts and technologies and transform them into research projects and profitable ventures. The ideal candidate will be able to combine their scientific background with the dynamic attitude and nature of the Venture Studio to effectively produce a significant number of projects each year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Researching technologies, investment trends, and innovative concepts to spot opportunities;
• Consortium building: identification and engagement of top-notch Research Centres in the EU and US;
• Strategic planning for R&I projects, including defining work plans, identification of required resources, and budget preparation.
• Strategic venture planning, including defining the major features of the startup such as solution, value proposition, partnerships, revenue, and IP strategy;
• Writing public funding proposals, including for Eurostars, EIC Pathfinder, and EIC Transition programs to generate funding for the projects and startups being nurtured;
• Interacting with key stakeholders throughout the venture-building process.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, energy systems, or a related field;
• An MBA or business experience is considered a plus;
• A strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and NLP applications;
• The ability to locate, read, and understand highly technical scientific papers and journals;
• Keen interest in innovation and being in the know about the latest tech trends;
• Knowledge or experience in EU grants is considered a plus;
• Experience in writing grant proposals, pitches, and other materials on behalf of startup companies or academic organizations;
• Team player, communicative, resistant to stress, mission-focused and respectful of deadlines;
• Fluent in the English language.
