This is an excellent patent attorney associate (partner-track) opportunity within a well-respected and growing practice. Your work will primarily relate to the preparation and prosecution of patents, patent opinions, patent portfolio strategy, due diligence, and client counseling, with the potential opportunity for PTAB and trademarks work as well. This firm has an impressive roster of high-tech clients. Here, your client assignment and responsibility will be commensurate with your abilities.

This firm has clients within variety of industries and has a strong flow of work relating to a range of technologies (e.g., medical device, materials, mechanical design, optics, consumer and industrial electronics, semiconductors, telecommunications, software engineering, etc.). Here, you will need to have a strong technical background, as the emphasis is on efficiently providing quality work relating to complex patents and important patent families. Prior engineering experience is not required, but is typically valued as a plus.

Requirements:

  • Minimum BS in Engineering (e.g. mechanical, biomedical, materials, electrical, aeronautical, nuclear, chemical) or Physics. An MS or PhD would certainly be valued.
  • JD, State Bar, USPTO Bar with a solid academic background
  • A least 2 years of full time patent drafting and prosecution experience within a respected law firm.
