Law firm patent attorney or patent agent opportunity. This highly regarded firm has clients within variety of industries and has a strong flow of work relating to a range of technologies (e.g., medical device, materials, mechanical design, consumer electronics, industrial equipment and controls, software and computer engineering, etc.).
This is a very collegial environment and you will deal directly with a variety of clients at all levels, thus you will need to have solid social and communication skills. The client needs will primarily pertain to patent preparation and prosecution, patent opinions (patentability, freedom to operate, validity, infringement, enforceability), patent portfolio assessments, and due diligence.
Attorney Requirements:
- Minimum BS in Engineering (e.g., mechanical, biomedical, materials, electrical, computer, aeronautical) or Physics. An MS or higher is not required, but would certainly be valued
- JD, State Bar, USPTO Bar with a solid academic background
- A least 2 years of full time patent drafting and prosecution experience.
- Any prior product development engineering experience would also be valued.
Agent Requirements:
- Minimum BS in Engineering (e.g., mechanical, biomedical, materials, electrical, computer, aeronautical) or Physics. An MS or higher is preferred.
- USPTO Bar with a solid academic background
- A least 2 years of full time patent drafting and prosecution experience.
- Any prior product development engineering experience would also be valued.
