About The Opportunity

As a member of the Performance Engineering team, the Performance Engineer is someone who thrives in attacking high-profile performance bottlenecks and identifying cost-effective solutions. You will get hands-on experience pushing the limits of scale, performance, and reliability of our applications. You will also use big data analysis techniques to help determine the next problem before it happens. As a subject matter expert in all things performance, you will collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Architects, and Site Reliability Engineers among other key stakeholders.

What You'll Get To Do

  • Participate in investigation, identification, and resolution of key performance bottlenecks for enterprise SaaS applications of various architectures, including multi-tier web applications, and microservices based applications.
  • Use development and analysis skills to reduce resource consumption of applications and minimize request latency to improve customer experience.
  • Design, author, and maintain performance tests and experiments to ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability requirements are met.
  • Participate in application design planning sessions.
  • Develop tools to monitor, mine, and visualize performance data from cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system performance parameters aligned with product roadmap requirements.

Skills And Experience We Value

  • Experience writing and maintaining performance tests in tools such as JMeter, K6, LoadRunner, and Gatling.
  • Proficiency with SQL and a thorough understanding of relational database systems.
  • Working knowledge of web technologies including HTML, HTTP, REST, JSON, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with APM (Application Monitoring) tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic, etc.
  • Experience working with public cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS)and hybrid cloud enterprise software solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Coding skills in a modern programing language such as C#, Java, or Python.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

What Would Make You Really Stand Out

  • Public cloud certification such as Azure Fundamentals and AWS Cloud Practitioner.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Grafana and PowerBI.
  • Knowledge of time series and NoSQL database technology.
  • Human Capital Management domain experience.
  • Familiarity with chaos engineering practices.
