Small Business Lending, LLC. is looking to add a CRE Portfolio Manager to its team.

The Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager will manage a portfolio of existing and underwrite new commercial real estate loans. Existing experience in CRE portfolio management and sound underwriting skills are required.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

The Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager will manage a portfolio of existing commercial real estate banking customer relationships and underwrite new commercial real estate loan requests. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for prudent underwriting and effective credit and risk administration with particular emphasis on adherence to credit policy and requirements, federal regulations, financial analysis, risk evaluation, covenant monitoring and on-going portfolio maintenance activities.

The Portfolio Manager will ensure overall portfolio performance and asset quality remains strong and when necessary, surfaces issues, proposes and collaborates with others on strategies and actions to limit risk and loss to the Bank. The Portfolio Manager will assess creditworthiness of existing and potential CRE borrowers by evaluating property level cash flow and completing extensive due diligence of collateral, sponsors, tenants and markets. Responsibilities will include the preparation of annual reviews, credit memorandums for new money requests, short term extensions, modifications, and risk rating recommendation; monitoring maturities and past dues, and covenant compliance; and, requesting financial information and third party repots.

Performing the functions of the position with only periodic oversight is a requirement and is expected to perform with minimal supervisory intervention.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • 5+ years of CRE/C&I underwriting experience with a minimum of 4 years' experience in commercial real estate/C&I portfolio management
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate markets and industry dynamics
  • Knowledge of portfolio management in a banking environment
  • Effective risk management and communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.

Education And Certification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics or Mathematics.

Salary Range: $110,000 to $140,000 per year
