About The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Development – Platform Experience Technology (PXT), the UI Architect is part of a group of key technical leaders driving the vision for the Dayforce UI Platform. This involves designing and supporting the delivery of UI framework improvements, including the UI infrastructure and components (building blocks) used by all feature teams to build the Dayforce product. This team’s mission is to build the most robust, high performing, accessible and user-friendly framework that maximizes the efficiency of teams throughout Product & Technology. What You’ll Get To Do
- Carry out Research & Development activities to help shape long-term UI architecture strategy.
- Work across P&T teams on identifying opportunities to improve UI framework to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Design and recommend modern UI solutions that address requirements for scalability, reliability, security, performance, extensibility, and maintainability.
- Present and drive consensus across Platform team and Software Development leaders throughout Dayforce on key technical decisions pertaining to UI strategy.
- Devise actionable plans and UI roadmaps for transforming and modernizing UI platform and help the team with execution.
- Help provide an architectural vision for the Dayforce Design System and work on modern concepts around microfrontends, tooling, and analytics.
- Actively review existing code base to address defects & identify opportunities to optimize UI framework and improve quality.
- Produce detailed technical documents, diagrams, and other architectural artifacts.
- Stay up to date and champion the adoption of UI development and test automation best practices.
Skills And Experience We Value
- 10+ Years of experience in front-end web technologies (HTML5, modern JavaScript libraries)
- 4+ Years of technical leadership experience working with Platform teams, providing guidance, recommendations, and knowledge sharing
- Business acumen & understand impact of technical decisions on reliability, operational costs, and other aspects of the business
- Ability to understand complex dependencies in an enterprise environment, and plan cross-team activities to navigate dependencies
- Able to define and refine standards for component development, internal and 3rd party integrations appreciating the performance and security risks/gains
- Strong regard for application performance, scalability, and security best practices
- Experience in converging Mobile and Web UI technologies for seamless user experiences
- Understanding of User Experience (UX) best practices
- Familiarity with UI as a Service concepts
- Comfortable guarding UI component repository for design, development, integration, and maintenance
- Experience with Accessibility standards and compliance
- DevOps CI/CD experience with hosting and delivering npm packages
- Knowledgeable with Content Delivery Network (CDN)
- Strong team player, and able to thrive within a large global organization
- Hands on experience with agile methodologies and scrum practices
- Results driven, ability to get things done & inspire teams to build great solutions
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor senior software developers
- Ability to analyze complex issues and define new direction
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present to and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strategic thinker: ability to come up with innovative and practical architectural solutions while maintaining compatibility with current state and Dayforce’s technology stack
