Your missions

At CyberCX we are building a uniquely Australia and New Zealand focused cyber intelligence capability. The Capability Manager – Cyber Intelligence will lead development and implementation of intelligence capability for CyberCX Intelligence. You will be a critical team member of the high-performing CyberCX Intelligence, a unique Indo-Pacific capability with unparalleled visibility into the region’s cyber threat landscape.

The primary accountability of the Capability Manager – Cyber Intelligence is to design, build, maintain and continuously improve platforms and tools to facilitate all aspects of the intelligence lifecycle.

We will consider candidates from any Australian capital city.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Architect and deploy high-performance, highly available and scalable infrastructure that facilitates access to information from disparate collection sources and supports critical cloud computing systems.
  • Drive the development of solutions that support CyberCX Intelligence technical collection requirements to enhance intelligence visibility.
  • Support intelligence products by managing and delivering end-to-end cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Maintain an understanding of current commercial intelligence and IT security platforms and tooling, as well as of Australia’s cyber threat landscape and threat intelligence concepts more generally.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve business and intelligence processes, share information, build partnerships and better engage and service customers, internal and external.
  • Mentor technical analysts and non-technical team members at all levels.

Positively regarded experience

  • 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role (e.g. cloud infrastructure engineer, intelligence capability development, security engineering, software development lead).
  • Excellent technical project management skills, including an ability to connect technical projects to meaningful business outcomes.
  • Excellent Python programming and development skills with experience in data engineering/data analysis, implementing automation across the development lifecycle and using continuous integration and development practices in Unix-based environments.
  • Experience with using, provisioning, and managing cloud services/resources and implementing infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with structured and unstructured databases, including SQL and Elastic databases.


Positively regarded qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s level education, with tertiary or industry qualifications in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering or Threat Intelligence highly regarded.
  • Relevant industry qualifications or other training (e.g. in cyber security, project management or analytical concepts)
  • Experience with intelligence consulting and/or managing complex intelligence stakeholder relationships
  • An active AGSVA clearance, or the willingness and ability to attain one
