Charles Taylor is a highly successful global provider of professional services to the insurance industry. We are seeking a dynamic Liability Claims Adjuster to join our team.

This position can work remotely but is expected to have experience handling general liability claims in KY along with an active KY adjusting license.

Position Summary

The Liability Claims Adjuster position is responsible for the investigation, administration and settlement of simple to moderately complex commercial auto property damage claims and/or bodily injury, within the authority granted by the company and the client. This role must perform with high levels of autonomy, while working closely with clients and attorneys as a claim's professional.

Essential Functions

  • Investigate new claims and initiate timely contacts with clients, their employees, claimants and legal counsel to determine appropriate actions to be taken.
  • Read and comprehend insurance policies.
  • Properly evaluate coverage and damages, address demands appropriately.
  • Applies understanding of insurance policies and policy interpretation while establishing appropriate loss estimates.
  • Negotiates settlements with claimants and attorneys.
  • Report to clients and excess carrier requests regarding claim status and follow through on recommended actions.
  • Remain in direct compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to utilize windows-based claims systems and Microsoft type applications.
  • Ability to serve on-call after-hours in response to urgent claim matters.
  • Meet with clients and account management to conduct claim reviews. This involves account meetings to present cost reports, reserves, active claims and settlement recommendations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by your Supervisor.


Experience/Education/Licensing Requirements

  • Five or more years of previous experience in adjusting general liability claims within the State of Kentucky. Experience handling litigated claims is preferred.
  • Must have an active adjusters license in Kentucky
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong PC/laptop skills
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills
  • Meet company background hiring standards
  • Ability to work in a team environment under direct management to complete assignments
