Trading Manager (Marine Trade) – Home Based – ARD1034732

We’re on the hunt for a talented Trading Manager to lead and implement our Geo Marine Trade Strategy. In this pivotal role, reporting to our Head of Marine & Leisure, you will drive high performance trading and underwriting, ensuring we meet and exceed customer service, financial and operational targets. What will you do here as a Trading Manager?

Responsibilities

This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:

  • Drive financial performance and operational productivity.
  • Hold regular team meetings to identify key focus areas and establish effective feedback channels.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to enhance broker account performance and optimise technical service and resource productivity.
  • Enhance the teams technical skills by promoting continuous learning and development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate resource and service plans, ensuring forecasts are regularly updated and aligned with business needs.
  • Data-driven decision making to maximise resource efficiency and financial outcomes.
  • Regularly meet with internal and external stakeholders to analyse and improve customer service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all people policies, including absence management, wellbeing, disciplinary actions and capability procedures.
  • Implement a data-led segmented approach to managing large and complex risks.
  • Forecast and manage risks associated with seasonal peaks or potential service impacts.
  • Oversee the QC process and ensure all activities align with the governance framework.

Who we are looking for to be our next Trading Manager?

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in management of a Trading, Underwriting or Technical function.
  • Proven experience in executing Specialist Marine strategies within an MGA environment.
  • Experience in people management including motivation, coaching, development and performance management.
  • Results driven, with a strong commercial acumen in a fast-paced environment.
