Team Lead - Medical Records Indexer

Description

• Lead indexing efforts of backlog of medical records in OnBase and Epic
• Lead training for the indexing of medical records to a team of 5 medical records indexers via train the trainer approach
• Serve as the lead and subject matter expert for Medical Records Indexers
• Review medical records and perform pre-indexing responsibilities involving heavy data entry in OnBase.
• Use high attention to detail to input correct patient demographic information and document dates in OnBase.
• Index documents to the correct patient encounters and/or patient charts in Epic.
• Audit errors and quality for team of Medical Records Indexers
• Provide performance management and coaching to the team
• Participate in performance optimization protocols based on medical records KPI's
  
  
  

Must Haves

• High School diploma required.
• Minimum 4+ years of medical records indexing experience.
• Mastery in Epic and OnBase systems.
• Prior experience leading a team, training teams, auditing quality and providing coaching.
• Prior experience being held to and meeting quality metrics.
• Attention to detail and critical thinking required.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer.
