This role will involve mainly remote working with some occasional (expensed) travel to our offices, or client offices across the UK. All applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (SC) level.

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will support the on-going growth of our geospatial capability within the Central Government business unit and across other areas, as needed.

Working with customers, you will act as a geopspatial proposition owner, working alongside our sales and technical teams. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for new / emerging opportunities that have a geospatial element, including pre sales meetings with clients where we are looking to understand the problem space, creating of demonstrators / PoC to support the sales journey and involvement in formal bidding processes e.g. defining the geospatial solution, providing technical input to bid responses and involvement in early stage project activities.

This role will require a motivated individual with an excellent understanding of geospatial technologies, a good communicator and enjoys helping customers do more with the 'power of where'.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the bridge between customer business solution owners and technical design / delivery

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

We're looking for a range of the following skills and experiences:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, computer science, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • GIS Software: Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, GeoServer, GeoNode or OpenLayers.
  • Databases: Familiarity with spatial databases like Oracle Spatial, PostGIS or SQL Server
  • Programming languages like .NET, Python or Java.
  • Front-End Design Languages: Knowledge of front-end design languages including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Mapping Tools: Experience with mapping tools such as QGIS and Carto.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients and explain geographic trends, as well as effective stakeholder management to collaborate with project teams and clients.
  • Background in Software Development and experience in developing and implementing geospatial solutions.
