We are looking for an experienced and visionary Director of Design to lead our design team across both our NEOGOV and PowerDMS platforms. In this role, you will drive the design strategy, oversee the execution of design projects, and ensure that our products are intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing. You will collaborate closely with product management, engineering, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to create exceptional user experiences that meet our customers' needs.

What You Will Do

• Develop and communicate a clear design vision and strategy for NEOGOV and PowerDMS, aligning with overall business objectives and market demands.
• Drive the design process from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of design projects.
• Lead user research and usability testing to gather insights and feedback, ensuring that our products are user-friendly and meet the needs of our diverse customer base.
• Champion a user-centered design approach across the organization.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top design talent.
• Work closely with product management, engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of design initiatives.
• Advocate for design excellence and user experience throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Establish and maintain design systems, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability across all products.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of design projects and make data-driven decisions.
• Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Represent NEOGOV at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings, positioning the company as a thought leader in design and user experience.

What You Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in design, with a proven track record of successfully leading design teams and projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user-centered design, visual design, and interaction design.
• Experience designing products for the public safety market or human capital management.
• Experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
• Proven experience in managing and scaling a high-performing design team of 10 or more members, with a hands-on approach to leadership and a track record of driving team success.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
