Job description

We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Receptionist for an online position to manage our virtual front desk operations. In this role, you will handle patient scheduling, manage online inquiries, and coordinate appointments with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients through online platforms (e.g., video calls, chat) and provide a friendly and professional virtual reception experience.
  • Manage and schedule patient appointments using online scheduling systems. Coordinate with medical staff to optimize appointment availability and manage changes.
  • Facilitate virtual check-ins and check-outs for online consultations. Ensure accurate collection and verification of patient information and payment details.
  • Handle incoming phone calls, emails, and online messages. Address patient inquiries, schedule appointments, and provide information on medical services or procedures.
  • Verify patient insurance information and eligibility remotely. Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits and address any related questions.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, managing electronic medical records, and updating patient information. Ensure all documentation is accurate and maintained securely.
  • Assist patients with troubleshooting basic technical issues related to online consultations and virtual appointments. Provide guidance on using the online platform effectively.
  • Process payments, including co-pays and deductibles, through secure online payment systems. Issue receipts and handle billing inquiries remotely.
  • Ensure that all online interactions and data handling comply with HIPAA regulations and other relevant privacy and security standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive virtual experience. Handle any complaints or conflicts professionally and empathetically.
Qualifications:
  • Certification in medical office administration or similar is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role preferred.
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in using online communication tools, medical office software, and EHR systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Experience with online scheduling and virtual consultation platforms is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
