Due to continued growth in our client’s global congress activity, we are looking for a Congress Housing / Sourcing Specialist (pharma venue find specialist) to join our Meetings Management Life Sciences UK based team. You will have expertise in sourcing, negotiating and contracting pharmaceutical congress accommodation or large exhibition / group accommodation worldwide. You are at ease guiding your stakeholders, building great relationships with housing bureaus / hotel suppliers, able to work independently but also can easily identify when to collaborate within your wider team to deliver the best solution for our clients.

As a Congress Sourcing Specialist, You Will

  • Ownership for souring, negotiating and contracting for worldwide pharmaceutical congresses
  • Analyse congress attendance alongside forecasting of future congress attendance to develop annual souring programmes for our clients.
  • Consult with stakeholders to gather all requirements to deliver the right congress solution to meet their objectives
  • Build strong partnerships with Housing Bureau’s, Societies and preferred suppliers Manage external vendors and suppliers – for sourcing, negotiating, contracting and event delivery
  • Consistently apply and demonstrate our expertise to our clients
  • Monitor and communicate attrition and mitigate cancellation penalties to your stakeholders
  • Participate in site inspections as required
  • On occasion support the onsite team on larger congress attendance to support with onsite housing management

You’re Good At

  • Proven hotel sourcing, negotiating and contracting hotel / housing expertise
  • Communication – listening, written and verbal - able to interpret our client’s objectives to be delivered into sourcing their medical congress requirements
  • Ability to instil confidence in your clients that we are experts in our field
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to react, think on your feet, offer solutions, work on multiple enquiries and timelines at once
  • Ability to travel in the UK and Overseas on occasion

You Might Also Have

  • Experience of planning pharmaceutical and/or congress events
  • Experience of event management technology used for sourcing managing room blocks / cancellation and attrition deadlines
  • Pharmaceutical meeting and healthcare professional compliance knowledge

You Should Know

  • Role is full time UK remote based
  • You must have the ability to travel within the UK and Overseas, this may include weekends
  • You must have the right to work in the UK
