Experienced Pharmacy Billing Specialist - Healthcare Claims Management

We are excited to invite applications for a Pharmacy Billing Specialist position in Indianapolis, Indiana! This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the healthcare industry while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Pharmacy Billing Specialist, you will manage pharmacy claims and ensure timely collection of payments for pharmacy services.

This position begins with on-site training for a few weeks to help you get acquainted with our processes and team. Following the training, you will transition to a full remote work setup. While this contract is currently slated to last through the end of the year, there is a possibility for it to evolve into a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit pharmacy claims to third-party insurance carriers.
• Secure necessary medical documentation as required by insurance carriers.
• Follow up on unpaid claims or balances with insurance carriers and patients.
• Research payer regulations and claim guidelines to ensure compliance with billing practices.
• Verify insurance coverage for pharmacy services prior to service delivery.
• Re-verify benefit coverage criteria as needed for claims follow-up.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all steps taken to resolve claim issues in billing software.
• Communicate claim issues effectively and collaborate with the team.
• Assist in setting and tracking weekly, monthly, and annual goals, providing progress updates as needed.
• Maintain patient billing records and generate billing reports as directed.
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Pharmacy Billing.
• Proficiency in medical billing and handling pharmacy claims.
• Strong understanding of medical claims procedures.
• Familiarity with health insurance policies and claims processing.
• Experience in efficiently managing claim denials.
• Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) is essential.
• Proven skills in collecting payments within a healthcare setting.
• Ability to interpret and adhere to relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
