Billing Specialist

This is a Remote position although it does require availability to be in the office as needed. Florida residency is a requirement for this role. 

Contributions:

• Responsible for preparing and monitoring all monthly billing and collection processes utilizing established policies, procedures, and tracking systems.

• Responsible for entering and ensuring all resident/patient demographic and insurance information is entered accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Record System (EMR).

• Responsible for ensuring all Contracts, Agreements, Admission documentation, and any related notices are completed accurately and saved in the Resident File in the Electronic Document Storage system and in the Electronic Medical Record System (EMR) as applicable.

• Responsible for processing and ensuring all census moves are made accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Record System (EMR), the Census spreadsheet is updated (if applicable), and that all needed documentation is received.

• Ensure all monthly charges and payments are applied accurately and reviewed prior to preparation of statements and/or claims. Ensure all statements and claims are submitted in accordance with established policies and procedures.

• Completes all month-end procedures and reconciliations in accordance with policies and procedures of the department.  

• Assists with the preparation of all reporting, audits, or regulatory surveys as needed.

• If applicable, oversee the Patient Fund Trust and Advance Deposit Fund in accordance with Moorings Park and state law.    

• Assist with the preparation and distribution of all annual notices for residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.   

Job Requirements:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
• During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
• Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years related billing experience.
• General Ledger System, Procurement System, Microsoft Office.
• Proven ability to work creatively, analytically, and independently in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
• Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and the industry.
• Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
• Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
