Location: Remote (EST Time one)
Salary Range: up to 2000 USD

Work Schedule: 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM EST

We are seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Senior Accountant. In this role, you will assist in the planning, execution, and timely completion of monthly financial reports, maintain accounting records, and ensure compliance with GAAP and GASB standards. You will also prepare financial statements, perform reconciliations, and support various accounting functions.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate for this role is a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles. You should have a proven track record in financial reporting and compliance, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise Software and Microsoft is essential, and familiarity with Strongroom/AvidXchange is a plus.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and timely completion of monthly financial reports.
  • Maintain accounting records in accordance with GAAP, GASB, and company policies.
  • Prepare routine and non-routine journal entries and accruals.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with GAAP or GASB.
  • Perform reconciliations and account analyses to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Review and approve funding requests, construction requisitions, and payment of invoices.
  • Complete bank reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for GL accounts such as prepaid insurance, utility deposit schedule, and journal entries as needed.
  • Prepare accurate interim financial statements, reports, analyses, and reconciliations.
  • Distribute monthly financial reports, financial statements, and bank reconciliations, along with any supporting documents, to clients, banks, and other departments.
  • Ensure all expenses, receipts, distributions, and other accounting transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Research open accounting issues in a timely manner and recognize potential issues and/or discrepancies.
  • Follow standard policies and procedures to ensure internal and external reporting requirements are consistently met.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must have two years of GASB and GAAP accounting experience.
  • Must have working knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise Software.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Tools.
  • Able to organize your own work, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare all aspects of the financial statement reports for a portfolio of clients.
  • Experience with Strongroom/AvidXchange is a plus.
  • Experience working for a U.S. based company is a plus.
