We are seeking an experienced NPD Sourcing Program Manager in support of and in the development of Sonnax’s new products, with strategic and tactical responsibility for the supply chain of the products we develop.

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership of product development projects from a procurement perspective
  • Management of day-to-day procurement tasks/reporting, including: communication with designers/vendors/suppliers to deliver on-time and on-budget; products, project timelines, milestones, deadlines and documentation of product costs, providing a smooth transition from development into production
  • Work closely with product line managers, engineers, and suppliers to reduce the product development cycle while improving the value of purchased components
  • Communicate project timing to buyers and suppliers
  • Identify and manage the sourcing and procurement resource requirements of multiple New Product design teams and Capital Equipment Requirements
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Initiate early supplier involvement and product line management engagement - "kick-off meetings" with engineering, purchasing, and the supplier to drive shorter product development time
  • Communicate the need for new suppliers/commodities when necessary to Purchasing Department
  • Oversee supplier new product forecast communication to ensure short- and long-term visibility is available for supplier capacity and delivery planning

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field and 10 or more years of purchasing/commodity management experience with progressive responsibilities. 
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience involving New Product Development.
  • Must be proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, specifications, and tolerances
  • Demonstrated negotiation and customer service skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with precision metal fabrication, industrial products and/or machined assemblies is a plus.
