Your Mission

The Finance Operations Manager is a critical role within our company, responsible for overseeing the financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and financial reporting. The role involves ensuring accurate financial tracking, compliance with internal processes, and effective communication with stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and our external accounting firm. The Finance Operations Manager will also support strategic financial decisions and play a key role in budgeting, cash flow management, and contract analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Manage customer billing, including contract interpretation, new customer setup, monthly invoicing, and resolving billing issues.
    • Communicate with customers regarding billing concerns and coordinate with the external accounting team.
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Oversee bill tracking through Bill.com and ensure accurate and timely processing and payment of outgoing bills.
    • Track vendor payments and manage vendor relationships.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
    • Collaborate with the President to manage the company budget and ensure that financial goals are met.
    • Ensure accurate reporting of contract values and Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in the CRM and reporting systems together with Revenue Operations.
    • Record and track company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure they are accurately reported in the appropriate systems.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the third party accounting firm on the preparation of company financials and reports.
    • Prepare and deliver financial reports for internal stakeholders and investors.
    • Collect key financial information from various stakeholders and report back to the accounting firm.
    • Manage and monitor cash flow, ensuring the company's liquidity needs are met.
  • Expense Management:
    • Oversee employee and company expense management, ensuring compliance with policies and accurate documentation of receipts.
    • Calculate and manage incentive payouts based on performance metrics.
  • Third-Party Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the third-party accounting firm to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Experience & Qualifications

  • Required:
    • 7+ years of experience in a similar role(s)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    • Relevant finance credentials (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA, and/or FP&A).
    • Proven ability to balance strategic work with day-to-day operational tasks.
    • Extensive experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
    • Strong business acumen and a keen attention to detail.
    • Process-oriented mindset with the ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
    • Experience as the sole financial operations manager within an organization.
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Experience collaborating with external accounting vendors.
    • Proficiency with financial tools and software, including Netsuite, Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with Bill.com and Chargebee.
    • Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
