Oracle Payroll and HCM Senior Manager

The Team

The Powered Apps teams are communities of technology focussed professionals who work together to deliver KPMG Powered Enterprise though a standardised delivery model, which drives professional delivery to clients. The teams use their functional knowledge and experience (e.g. Finance, HR, Procurement), coupled with their expertise in the cloud applications (e.g. Oracle, Workday, ServiceNow HRSD, Coupa) to lead and deliver client programmes, support pre-sales activities and develop improvement and extensions to Powered Enterprise.

Our integrated capability teams design, build and operate flexible technology enabled solutions for clients to help them solve the most complex business problems and transform their operations.

The Role

As our Powered HR practice continues to grow we are seeking talented individuals with experience of Oracle implementations. This is a high-profile role within the team, requiring a balance of business development / sales origination and client delivery.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • As an Engagement Manager, lead the delivery of high quality Oracle Payroll and HCM deployment projects
  • Provide specialist Oracle advice and work closely with the client leads to optimise processes and maximise the benefits of Oracle
  • Advise clients on the transformational aspects of Oracle in relation to HR operating model, self-service, service delivery, portal, virtual agent and relevant HR process execution, e.g. Onboarding, Absence Management, Payroll, Offboarding etc
  • Contribute to business development and sales initiatives including bid, proposal and contract / commercial negotiations with our Oracle clients
  • Lead the growth of the Powered HR practice through sharing knowledge, developing thought leadership and supporting the career aspirations of team members
  • Advise on technical integration of the Oracle application with other client and 3rd party applications such as payroll, benefits and finance systems
  • Advise on data migration and data integrity as part of the deployment engagement
  • Liaise with stakeholders across Powered HR, cross collaborating with other teams across Powered HR, ensuring opportunities are shared and explored to maximise our offering to clients.
  • Be a role model to the wider team by showcasing our values and principles, leading from the front and by example.
  • Assisting with goal development and coaching of staff to enable the growth of the junior management team within our practice.


Experience Required

  • Proven experience successfully delivering Oracle Payroll and HCM programmes
  • Advanced functional understanding of Oracle product
  • Experience in Payroll and HR leading transformation projects, leading workstreams and managing teams
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Payroll and HR processes
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with another HCM cloud product e.g.Workday, Service Now, SuccessFactors (desirable)
  • Comfortable with agile and waterfall methods of working
  • Excellent documentation, reporting and presentation skills
  • Well-developed analytical skills and the ability to provide clarity to complex issues, and synthesize large amounts of information
  • Experience in a functional and/or technical role in a business or systems delivery environment preferably in the HR sector
  • Experience producing project deliverables (business requirements, functional specs, configuration document, process flows, use cases, requirements traceability matrices etc.)
  • Ability to effectively transfer knowledge and flex the approach according to the situation
  • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and experience
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with varying team members
  • Strong functional knowledge of HR, Recruitment (incl. Onboarding), Payroll, Time Tracking or Case Management business applications an advantage
  • Experience as a configuration expert and/or project manager of enterprise software deployments
  • Our candidates should have strong commercial acumen, strong desire to learn and develop and be able to thrive in a fast-paced working environment


Candidates must be eligible, able to gain and retain National Security Vetting at the level of Security Check (SC).
