Zurich is seeking a Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer. The qualified individual must reside within New York City, Long Island, or Northern New Jersey. This is a field role with approximately 25% overnight travel. This is a work from home role and includes a company car.
As a Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer you are responsible for:
- Providing jurisdictional inspections and machinery breakdown risk assessment services for customers and business partners.
- Provides intermediate machinery breakdown consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and hazard/machinery breakdown management programs.
- Provides basic level training for customers, service design and coordination, marketing, and loss investigations.
Final candidates will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle record background check, because this position includes a company car.
The role will be filled at the Risk Engineering Representative or Risk Engineering Consultant level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
Risk Engineering Representative:
- Bachelors Degree and 2 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering and Safety area OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering and Safety area
OR
Risk Engineering Consultant:
- Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering area OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge within the boiler and machinery industry segment
- Relevant experience in the assessment of risk, based on what is required by Machinery Breakdown specific competency standards
- National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Commission Card
- Navy Nuclear School
- Insurance industry experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word)
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Experience working in a team environment
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The combined salary range for this position is $57,500.00 - $119,200.00. The starting salary range for the Risk Engineering Representative is $57,500.00 - $94,300.00 and for the Risk Engineering Consultant is $72,800.00 - $119,200.00.
