Job description

Zurich is currently looking for an experienced Instructional Design Specialist to support the Crop (RCIS) business unit of Zurich North America. Ideally, this position would be based out of our Anoka, MN office, but can be located virtually anywhere in the United States.

The ideal candidate will design and develop learning solutions covering crop insurance concepts, rules, processes, and procedures. This person will work in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and develop instructionally sound learning material to address specific needs within the organization, and will be responsible for the following phases of the learning solution cycle: analysis, design, development and evaluation.

The Instructional Design Specialist will:

  • Consult with SMEs and research policy and procedure documents to design comprehensive and targeted learning solutions
  • Make recommendations to ensure performance outcomes are attained
  • Use a variety of instructional design techniques to design and develop learning solutions of medium to high complexity
  • Develop material for a variety of delivery formats (instructor-led, self-paced, blended learning)
  • Utilize strong sound instructional design practices and principles for various modalities and delivery methods
  • Update and revise training materials on an ongoing basis

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Curriculum Design area

OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Curriculum Design area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong technical writing and editing skills
  • Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity in the design of training methodologies and materials
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong working knowledge of course development tools such as Articulate and Vyond
  • Experience in financial services/insurance environment
  • Experience consulting with business partners or clients
  • Knowledge of the global learning and development marketplace, consultants, and providers of L&D solutions
  • Experience in the crop insurance industry, with experience developing crop insurance training a plus.
