Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (YCCI) is seeking a transformative leader to serve in the position of Associate Director, Clinical Research Applications and Analytics. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of YCCI, this position works in partnership with and as a liaison to the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) leadership, Research Information Office (RIO) and other YSM and Yale New Haven Health System/Epic offices to develop system architecture maps and produce meaningful reports and analyses to inform departments and advise management decision making. Liaises with senior executive leadership, faculty, and staff to understand business needs and implement strategies for data quality assurance. This position leads the Business Ownership of the clinical research applications and liaises with HSIT and RIO, and oversees and manages interconnectivity of systems (such as OnCore, eReg, SalesForce, EVAL and Epic), and suggests, implements and communicates new systems and existing system enhancements. Develops and manages YCCI’s Data Analytics/Decision Support unit to support data queries, reports, and dashboards for leadership decision support for work units and key performance metrics, and reporting to a variety of audiences on the same. The position directly supports YCCI analytics, data for the submission and management of the 7 CTSA award instruments through NIH-NCATS, and serves as the liaison for YCCI with HSIT and the deployment of an Enterprise Analytic solutions. This position will also lead the teams currently organized to assist with OnCore Support (user accounts and identity access management), Computer Systems Validation (21 CFR Part 11 regulated systems), and business analysts.
Essential Duties
- Directs, monitors, and assesses needs and directs the application of resources of an administrative University office dealing with one or more major functional areas. 2. Directs and implements solutions to problems that are routine to complex in nature and that affect multiple functional areas of responsibility. 3. Plans and/or participates in planning University activities on a long-term basis to comply with University goals and objectives. 4. Establishes and implements consistent university-wide policies in multiple functional areas of responsibility. 5. Ensures that University office policies and procedures are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. 6. Develops and monitors goals and objectives for managerial and professional staff in compliance with University strategies. 7. Directs a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and eight years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Required Skill/Ability 1
Strong aptitude for data systems and technical solutions; willingness to learn new software applications. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel/Access, and tools like OnCore, eReg, SalesForce, EVAL and Epic. Able to perform lookups, parse and combine data, create calculations, format worksheets, work with pivots/charts/graphs; understand PowerBI and data visualization products.
Required Skill/Ability 2
Exceptional reporting and analytical skills, including experience interpreting data sets and effectively and concisely summarizing results for staff including senior leadership. Excellent presentation and organizational skills. Ability to set and meet deadlines and be responsive to planned and ad-hoc requests.

Excellent project management and organizational abilities, strong attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team, and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to analyze and interpret complex business data, processes, and reporting. Strong understanding of relational databases and table relationships; ability to build large complex queries combining data from multiple sources.

Preferred Education, Experience And Skills
Masters Degree (MBA, MPH, MIS, etc) is preferred with 8 years of experience in clinical research management and technology support. Detailed experience in CTMS, ERP, and EHR systems and other ancillary platforms highly desired.
