Job title: Data Migration Specialist w/ Solace & Cloudera Experience
Contract role
Eastern Standard time hours (US)
Location - Remote
Client - Staples
About the role:
Staples is looking for a data engineer of 5+ years, one who specifically has experience with Cloudera and Solace Databases. They will be a part of a team who is migrating data from Cloudera to Solace. The majority of the data that will be moved is Kafka Data.
About the project:
Staples is in the process of getting rid of one of their databases, Cloudera, by the end of 2024. Some of the data and applications are getting migratied from Cloudera to Solace. The majority of the data that will be moved is Kafka data..
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the general strategy of planning a data migration
Be an active part of migrating the data from Cloudera to Solace
Be able to provide ideas and suggestions on best practices when migrating data from one system to another
Qualifications or must have candidate requirements:
Must have experience migrating data from one system to another
Must have experience with Cloudera
Must have experience with Solace
Must have experience with Kafka data
Good to have skills:
Experience with Azure is a plus
Experience with Snowflake is a plus
Experience planning a large scale data migration from end to end
