POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Payroll Analyst

 

POSITION: Full-time

 

DEPARTMENT: Accounting FLSA: Exempt

LOCATION: Remote, TX REPORTS TO: Payroll Manager 

 

 

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Think Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our accounting team on a full-time basis. This person will report directly to the Payroll Manager and administer bi-weekly payroll using Paylocity payroll software. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Preparation and processing of bi-weekly multi-state payroll
  • Reconciliation, balancing and transmission of all payrolls related data to Paylocity
  • Balancing and review of all payroll output and results as well as completing all controls and checks to ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations
  • Ensuring all data is accurately compiled and sent to payroll vendor according to payroll deadlines
  • Liaising on a regular basis with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure actions and issues are addressed and resolved according to best practices 
  • Creating, updating and maintaining desktop procedures for payroll to ensure compliance with Think Power Solutions policies and procedures as well as Federal and State law
  • Acting as backup for Payroll Manager to provide coverage for all payroll operations within the company

Other Related Responsibilities

  • Assist in reconciling payroll general ledger accounts as well as resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities on a timely basis
  • Establish and maintain payroll processes & policies to ensure changes are addressed as they occur, and documentation remains up to date 
  • Participate in education courses for compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years progressive payroll experience
  • Strong knowledge of Paylocity processing with report writing skills
  • CPP certification preferred but may substitute for work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong working knowledge of federal/state tax laws and wage garnishments
Requirements
  • Paylocity processing experience 
  • Solid computer skills with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to create payroll audit reports within Paylocity
  • Strong quantitative and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and complete projects on time and accurately with focus on organization and attention
  • High level of integrity, independent and individually motivated
