As the Senior Payroll Controller at Covestro Netherlands, you will be part of the HR team and lead payroll operations, ensuring compliance, processing payments, and supporting audits. You’ll generate reports and provide essential administrative support to HR while driving improvements in efficiency and service delivery.

This role sits between Finance and HR, requiring strong stakeholder management, communication, and flexibility. While handling operational tasks like payroll processing and working with Excel, you’ll also significantly contribute to shaping the payroll function to better support both departments.

You’ll take over the role from a retiring team member, with the opportunity to make it your own, and collaborate with a dedicated team of four in a dynamic, independent environment.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll:

• Ensure seamless monthly payroll operations with meticulous oversight and guidance.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in salaries, personnel changes, and international assignments to maintain accurate financial records.
• Collaborate effectively with external providers to streamline payroll processes.
• Provide monthly anonymized payroll details and manage Internal Control System (ICS) controls to uphold financial integrity.

Tax:

• Maintain expert knowledge of Dutch wage tax, including international implications, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Oversee timely and accurate monthly tax and social security payments.
• Collaborate with tax authorities and consultants to resolve issues and optimize tax strategies.
• Administer and report on Work Cost Regulation to ensure adherence to legal requirements.

Payments:

• Manage monthly salary and pension payments, ensuring precision and reliability.

Audits:

• Support internal and external audits related to payroll processes, providing comprehensive documentation and insights.

Reporting, Analytics, and Calculations:

• Prepare detailed calculations, reports, and analytics on HR topics to support strategic decision-making.

Administrative Processing:

• Handle HR administrative tasks with a focus on maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality.

Continuous Improvement:

• Drive process optimization initiatives and contribute actively to projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

WHO ARE YOU?

• You have an HBO-level education in Finance, with training in payroll administration and/or payroll tax.
• You bring 5-10 years of experience in salary, wage tax, and administration systems.
• You are proficient in Excel, detail-oriented, and passionate about data analysis.
• You have strong analytical skills and a focus on accuracy and planning.
• You possess extensive knowledge of payroll administration and Dutch tax regulations.
• You have experience in international organizations and are skilled in systems like Workday and Euhreka.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English, facilitating collaboration in multicultural settings.
• You can work independently and as part of a team, maintaining high standards.
• You are proactive in enhancing payroll processes and driving efficiency.
• You adapt well to dynamic environments and consistently meet deadlines.

• Profit-Sharing Bonus (PSP): Depending on the salary grade, the target bonus percentage is  5%.The maximum payout can reach up to 12.5%.
• Do you travel business kilometers with your own transportation? Then you will receive a mileage allowance of € 0.36 per kilometer, of which € 0.23 is untaxed. (with a maximum of 60km per day)
• a home work allowance of € 2.35 per day if you can work from home.
