Description

Are you an experienced accountant looking for a new opportunity? We are seeking a talented Accountant to join our team in a high-level role with a leading financial services organization based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is a fully remote position, perfect for someone with 3+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Role Overview

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for performing transactional accounting tasks for our field offices. Your duties will include:

  • Processing vouchers
  • Entering journal entries
  • Handling commissions
  • Conducting monthly period closing reconciliations
  • Assisting with payroll and 1099 processing
  • Training new contractors
  • Maintaining relationships with assigned offices
  • Taking on office-specific accounting projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Process vouchers, journal entries, and commissions in JD Edwards.
  • Conduct monthly period closing reconciliations.
  • Support payroll processing and 1099 management.
  • Train new contractors on accounting procedures.
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with assigned offices.
  • Manage and prioritize office-specific accounting projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with journal entries.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to professional grammar.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

Work Schedule

This role offers a flexible schedule, with options of either 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including a 30-minute lunch break. Flexibility is available with appropriate notice and coverage.
