PWT Labour Support

You will be carrying out PWT (Protection Worker on the Track) duties and protect staff whilst on or about the track during engineering hours and to assist the team with labourer tasks. Ensuring a safe worksite and implementing and adhering to site health and safety regulations. This role is to work Engineering hours 10pm-6am Sunday to Thursday.

What you’ll do:

  • To undertake protection and ensure that staff are protected in a safe manner whilst working on or about the track.
  • Must adhere to Transport at Work Act with particular attention to the Drugs and Alcohol Policy.
  • Whilst on duty ensure that all appropriate PPE is worn.
  • Always carry relevant certificates
  • Book on with relevant personnel at the start of duty and book off at the end of the shift.
  • Keep a good communication with the PWT team leader.
  • Ensure briefings are conducted prior to any work commencing.
  • Ensure that NEPA and any notices are read and understood at the start of each shift.
  • Post holder must carry out their work and adhere to all QSE formal documentation requirements within Telent.

Who you are:

  • You’ll be compliance with the statutory regulations etc. including Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Co-operate fully with company personnel and others by: Performing their work activities in the manner in which they have been instructed and trained such that they do not place themselves or anyone else at risk.
  • Reporting any unsafe conditions, incidents and near misses to their immediate Supervisor so that remedial action can be taken to eliminate risk.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a PWT EH and PWT EH qualifications
  • All staff must have undertaken the relevant PWT courses and have undergone the required assessments.
  • Sentinel with ICI – LU
