Job description

Android Developer

Growing software company looking to hire an experienced, self-motivated Android developer to expand our native Android app. You’ll be directly impacting our mobile user experience by implementing new features that extend real-time communication abilities across our platform. Join us to work with today’s top technologies.

This is a remote position. Candidate must be a resident of the United States and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preference will be given to candidates with a similar timezone: Mountain Standard Time.

Job Description:

  • Own the full mobile application development lifecycle
  • Develop, test, and deploy user interface, services, and data components for complex mobile application
  • Code, debug, test, and maintain applications to meet requirements

Technical requirements:

  • Proficiency with current Android development practices (Java and Kotlin)
  • Experience implementing Android User Interface Guidelines and Android lifecycle management
  • Experience using the Google Play Developer Console 
  • Passion for great user experience, code quality, and testing
  • Experience using REST APIs and implementing third party libraries
  • Familiarity with Git

The ideal candidate:

  • Comfortable taking ownership of the Android product and implementing sweeping changes
  • Experience with production applications and startup timelines
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with peers (written/verbal)
  • Understanding of the application and activity lifecycles, threading, and memory management
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies (e.g., scrum)
  • Knowledge of common framework libraries, firebase, etc..
