Trace Genomics is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to add to our growing organization! Trace’s groundbreaking aggregated soil data products provide a unique value proposition for our enterprise customers. Trace provides insights into what’s happening within the soil that allow them to make better decisions around where to target their products, how to reach their sustainability goals and ultimately how to drive more value to farmer livelihoods. The Technical Sales manager is responsible for achieving our revenue targets by promoting and selling our products by expanding our customer base, and helping agricultural businesses embrace our advanced solutions to enhance their practices.


At this time, candidates who reside only in the state of Indiana will be considered.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Builds a customer base, using networks to source and onboard new business
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with existing customers, ensuring their ongoing needs are met with the Trace product offerings
  • Partners with internal teams to provide feedback to continuously drive innovation and ensure our product work is aligned with the customers’ needs
  • Stays updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities, watching for opportunities to develop into new markets. Identifies sales opportunities and adapts strategies
  • Develops an in-depth understanding of our products’ features and benefits, and effectively communicates this information to customers
  • Collaborates with the broader Sales Team to develop a sales plan and forecast aligned with revenue objectives
  • Reports on sales results and forecasting updates
  • Addresses potential problems and suggests prompt solutions

Qualifications:


  • 3+ years of experience with a proven track record in sales of a new product to the market within the agriculture industry
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Travel as required (60%)
  • BS in an Ag-related or Ag-adjacent field with a deep knowledge of the industry
