Finance Department

Finance Department (FD) is responsible for financial management of the GIC group. We ensure financial stewardship and reporting for the GIC group, and act as business partners to optimize corporate financial planning and the use of operating budgets for growth and sustainability. We harness data and technology to create insights for financial decision-making and achieve excellence in financial operations.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Finance Department to support automation and digitization initiatives and work alongside the finance teams to drive improvements in business processes and controls to improve operations efficiency and effectiveness. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the ideal candidate has hands-on working knowledge of finance operating systems and has participated in various systems implementation efforts.

                                                                                              

What will you do as an AVP in the Finance Projects team?

Provide finance projects support to the VP, Finance in the following areas:

  • Formulate system implementation workplan across functional teams, including users’ requirements gathering, system testing, gap closure, implementation, and post go-live hyper care support.
  • Document and analyze finance ‘as-in’ processes to identify functionality gaps in system and business processes. Engage finance users and IT to design and develop ‘to-be’ system and processes to close the gaps.
  • Review of key business processes and controls as part of system implementation to identify and execute on improvement opportunities.
  • Administer project milestones, timelines and provide timely progress reports to the finance leadership team. 
  • Support any other finance system modernization and business process re-engineering effort as required.

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role? 

  • At least 8-10 years of experience in Accounting and Finance with good understanding of business processes
  • Solid experience in accounting, controllership, planning, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Prior experience in supporting finance system implementation and business change management, finance automation and digitalization initiatives
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across different stakeholders’ groups and deliver timely results in a dynamic working environment
  • Candidates who possess advance excel skills, programming skills (SQL/Python, etc.) and users of finance systems and BI tools will be advantageous
