Your missions

Overview of Position:

Speedcast’s Service Management team deliver technical support to our customers to resolve Incidents and restore normal service in a timely and efficient manner.

Working a 24x7 shift rotation and in line with standard operating procedures, Service Desk Engineers are primarily responsible for the investigation and management of unplanned interruption to or quality reduction of our customer's services.

What you will do:

  • Investigate and troubleshoot Incidents relating to client services.
  • Configuration of client’s services and associated equipment.
  • Utilize Speedcast’s Incident Management Tool to log and update reported faults from clients.
  • Liaise with Clients to investigate issues and ensure Incidents are rectified or escalated accordingly.
  • Utilize monitoring and reporting tools to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Assist with ongoing maintenance and upgrade of Speedcast Infrastructure as needed.
  • Encompass Speedcast’s values in everyday activities

What we need from you:

  • BA/BS Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science or similar.
  • Equivalent industry experience of 2+ years
  • Hands-on experience of support with remote customers within a network support role
  • Network/IP troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in Satellite Technology i.e. RF Experience, iDirect, Gilat, Newtec, etc.
  • GVF qualification
  • Cisco certifications i.e. ICND or CCNA
  • ITIL foundation certificate
  • Solarwinds & Dataminer experience
  • Service Now Experience
  • Ability to manage workload in-line with standard operating procedures
  • Strong analytical thinker
  • Excel at solving problems
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to pitch technical communications at an appropriate level
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines
  • Shows initiative, team player
  • Must be customer focused
