Job Overview Summary 

The Head of Product Marketing is responsible for driving the strategic vision and execution of product and segment marketing initiatives in alignment with Advarra’s business objectives.  The role is responsible for leading the Product Marketing team to develop strategic marketing programs to increase awareness, accelerate product adoption and drive revenue growth, support sales enablement goals, and bring new product innovations to market.  The successful candidate will also collaborate with leadership across the commercial and product management teams to ensure alignment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities 

Product Positioning & Go-To-Market

  • Define compelling value propositions, messaging frameworks, and positioning strategies for our products and services to effectively communicate their unique benefits and differentiation in the market.
  • Lead the Product Marketing team to develop and execute product marketing strategies that align with overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with product management to understand product features, benefits, and differentiation to create compelling value propositions.
  • Lead the development of go-to-market plans for new products/features, and updates in collaboration with cross-functional teams including product management, sales, and marketing.
  • Define, and execute product positioning and messaging strategies that resonate with target audiences and differentiate Advarra’s solutions in the marketplace.

Market Intelligence

  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to identify market opportunities, trends, and customer preferences, and leverage findings to inform product and marketing strategies.

Content Development

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality marketing content such as whitepapers, case studies, blog posts, videos, and webinars to educate prospects, engage customers, and drive demand.

Brand Management

  • Ensure consistent messaging, branding, and positioning across all marketing channels and touchpoints to strengthen brand awareness and perception.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Closely collaborate with sales, product management, and other key stakeholders to align product roadmaps with marketing strategies and ensure synergy in marketing efforts.
  • Provide insights to the product team based on market feedback and competitive analysis.
  • Work closely with the product management team to influence product roadmap and release schedule based on market research and analysis, product strategies, content for product releases, and customer success.

Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing product marketing and growth marketing team focused on continuous learning.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the product marketing department.
  • Act on opportunities for mentorship and team development.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of scalable processes that ensure best practices in campaign and lead management.

Performance Measurement

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly analyze and report on the effectiveness of product marketing activities/campaigns

Location 

 This role is open to candidates working remotely in the United States. 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years proven experience in product marketing leadership roles within the technology or services industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience within the clinical research or Life Sciences industry preferred.
  • Previous experience working in software technology preferred.
  • Experience with marketing automation systems preferred.
  • An interest in understanding the industry and our business' mission required.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing go-to-market plans, including product positioning, and messaging strategies.
  • Ability to work highly collaboratively with cross-functional teams, while also possessing strong organizational skills to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex concepts and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience leading and managing high-performing teams, with a focus on fostering professional growth and development.
  • Results-driven mindset with a track record of achieving revenue targets and driving measurable business impact.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of our business' various types of content.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand an audience/industry and provide thought leadership.
  • Excellent independent and team collaboration skills
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Pay Transparency

The base salary range for this role is $​177,000​ - $301,100​. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
