Backend Engineer (f/m/d)

As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for curating the structure of server side information. This means developing, maintaining and scaling up our platform and our vehicle information database, ensuring its reliability, scalability, performance and cost-effectiveness. Be ready to be part of a highly innovative team, always searching for new technologies and standards to keep improving our technological stack in an agile environment.

You will be part of our Software team, which creates robust and innovative solutions that increase the value, efficiency and reliability of our web and mobile applications

As Backend Engineer you will
  • Participate in the specification of new features and improvements, supporting our Product Owner;
  • Implement and maintain core services with business logic, serving REST APIs implemented with .NET;
  • Design and implement the software architecture to support high availability and horizontal scalability;
  • Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance;
  • Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.

 

This is what we believe is needed for this role
  • Strong technical background with a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or similar relevant fields;
  • Strong knowledge of C# and .NET;
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly SQL Server;
  • Knowledge of software design and architecture;
  • Knowledge of software development life-cycle processes;
  • Reliability and great problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Fluency in English.

 

Bonus Points 

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. Elasticsearch);
  • Experience with message brokers (e.g. Kafka);
  • Experience with containerized applications (e.g. Docker, K8S);
  • Experience with caching systems (e.g. REDIS);
  • Experience with Clean Architecture.

      This role can be performed Remotely in Portugal, or hybrid/office in Coimbra, Portugal.
