About the Role
The Data Analyst works with TPG managers and government representatives to develop and deliver both scheduled reports and responses to inquiries from government agencies, media, and the public regarding current and historical program performance. The Data Analyst is part of the TPG’s Data Strategy team and collaborates closely with team members to align approaches, share best practices, and develop new analytics tools and resources.
What You’ll Do
As a Data Analyst you will collaborate across the company, working with the enterprise applications team, operational leaders and managers, quality analysts, and others to understand program operations and create reports that provide critical information to end users. Report audiences may be internal or external, and reports developed may be continuously available or delivered on a one-time, daily, weekly, monthly, or other cadence.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Use R or Python to clean, merge, and manipulate data from multiple data sources.
- Use Power BI or other BI tools to load, model, analyze, visualize, and present data to end users.
- Use Salesforce to create real-time quality assurance reports within the Salesforce CRM platform.
- Produce formatted PDF files of reports for delivery to external audiences.
- Respond to ad hoc report requests from internal stakeholders, customer representatives, government agencies, media, and the public (e.g., FOIA requests).
- Work with stakeholders and company leadership to define new reports, recommend report design, analytical approaches, etc. to best support operational goals or report requirements.
- Serve as a resource for internal audiences in understanding published performance metrics and reports.
- Create and maintain documentation for developed reports and data sources , participate in the development of data system and reporting training materials and resource guides.
- Advise enterprise application team on the potential impact of any proposed system changes.
- Collaborate closely with the data systems applications team(s) to promote data consistency and integrity.
- Provide peer review and guidance to other analytics staff, fostering a collaborative knowledge-sharing environment.
- Duties are performed via a government approved computer system. Employees are required to possess strong computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
- Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice – management reserves the right to revise these duties as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- 6+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting
- Excellent knowledge of data cleaning and validation principals and techniques
- Excellent knowledge of importing and combining data from disparate datasets
- 3+ years of experience using R or Python packages to clean, merge, and manipulate datasets
- 2+ years of experience using PowerBI (including PowerQuery/DAX), or similar business intelligence tool to create visualizations, reports, and dashboards
- Understanding of data models and ability to create basic relational models
- Data visualization expertise necessary to apply branding and create visually consistent reports
- Ability to balance attention to detail with need to quickly deliver results
- Ability to work collaboratively across both operational and technical teams
- Experience working with CRM data (Salesforce preferred); call center data (Genesys/Five9) a plus
- Government and/or human services experience (preferred)
- Experience providing technical assistance and training around data (preferred)
- Experience developing key performance indicators (preferred)
Work Environment
This is a remote opportunity where occasional travel could be required. Since this is a remote role, the successful candidate must have a dedicated workspace conducive to full videoconferencing (camera and audio).
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position that typically works business hours Monday through Friday. Hours may vary depending on needs and may at times include travel, evenings, or weekends to meet specific project requirements.
Condition of employment:
- Complete a rigorous culture and competency testing process
- Complete a Drug Test
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- A valid US Driver’s license
- Have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (Tier 4)
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Residency requirement - 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years.
Physical Demands
- Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use a telephone system 100% of the time.
- Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
