What we are looking for

We are looking for a dedicated Engineering Manager to oversee the engineering team.


What does the job involve
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and timelines.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team, implementing best practices and processes to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the development process and meet business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance within the engineering team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide regular feedback to team members to support their growth and development.
  • Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert, assisting with complex technical challenges and providing guidance on architectural decisions.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders, and escalate issues as needed to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in engineering management.

Qualifications
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Engineering, Elect/Elect Engineering, or any software development-related fields.
  • A minimum of 6 years related work experience in software development.
  • You have experience building payment systems - a good knowledge of ISO8583/ISO22022 and card transaction processing flow.
  • You have experience building systems processing millions of transactions or requests at scale (backend).
  • You have experience working with distributed systems and micro-services for high throughput and low latency message processing.
  • You have worked as a Developer in a company:

     

    • processing millions of requests daily e.g. e-commerce, order processing.
    • with large clientele base that needs to respond quickly to requests e.g. gaming, betting, etc.
    • that serves enterprises grade apps like ERPs or core business apps that require global standards on security, uptime, etc.
  • You have experience building scalable enterprise backend APIs with best practice on security, reliability, and resilience.
  • You have a deep knowledge of NET Core/.NET framework, C#, Kafka, Redis, SQL Server, Golang (optional).
  • You can take ownership of tasks/projects and work within a team.
  • You have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to build rapport across various stakeholders.
  • You are highly proficient in problem solving, analytical thinking and communication.
  • You have a good knowledge of software development life cycle, payment, banking, and IT infrastructure.
