Your missions

TileDB is looking for a highly organized and results-oriented Event Manager to own and execute on our global events strategy. Our events include a balanced mix of horizontal and vertical events, including conference sponsorships, meetups and executive dinners. Reporting to the Director of Demand Generation, this role will work closely with our executive team and other go-to-market stakeholders to orchestrate the delivery of first-class, on-brand, and memorable event experiences for our prospects.

Company

We build the TileDB Cloud Database. TileDB was founded in 2017, after several years of implementation at Intel Labs, to solve use-cases at the Broad Institute and MIT. TileDB has raised over $50 million in funding from high-profile investors, with our most recent funding round ($36 million Series B) announced in Oct. 2023.

We are a remote first, distributed team with employees in the USA, Europe, and South America. Our headquarters are in Cambridge, MA, USA and we have a subsidiary in Athens, Greece. The nature of this role will require some occasional travel to the Company's headquarters in Cambridge, MA, and/or to various event locations."

Expectations

We are no strangers to events; we have done a lot - and learned a lot. Our audiences love them. Now it is the time to take this channel to the next level;  you will be instrumental in elevating our events strategy to new heights of delivery, brand experience and top-of-the-funnel impact.

In your first 15 days, you will familiarize yourself with the 2024 Events Calendar, past events and existing event processes. After 30 days, you are expected to roll-up your sleeves and get your first on the ground action.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a range of first and third party event types including conference sponsorships, meetups and executive dinners
  • Execute on and enrich our 2024 Events Calendar, aligning with allocated budget and lead quotas
  • Develop the 2025 Events Strategy according to executive goals
  • Coordinate logistics and production for events across the USA and Europe
  • Research costs for swag, venues, entertainment and supplier management
  • Arrange the timely distribution of equipment and promotional merchandise to each event
  • Ensure full alignment with cross-functional stakeholders,  including marketing teams, sales and delegates
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and safety regulations for events
  • Work with marketing stakeholders to deliver a consistent on-brand experience

  • 4+ years of demonstrated success managing, high-impact marketing events, ideally in a high-growth B2B SaaS
  • Outstanding communication skills, including strong executive presence
  • Previous experience owning quota (leads and/or pipeline)
  • Strong organization skills. You have demonstrated ability to build plans, follow budgets, prioritize tasks, create agreement across groups, and stay organized in a demanding environment
  • Strong bias for action
  • Experience with HubSpot, Zoom, Slack, and a related tech-stack

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and stock options;
  • 100% medical and dental insurance coverage (for you and your dependents!);
  • Paid parental leave;
  • Paid time off (vacation, sick & public holidays); and
  • Flexible time off & flexible hours
  • Work remotely. Our headquarters are in Cambridge, MA, USA and we have a subsidiary in Athens, Greece. We are a remote-first company, with core business hours overlapping with the US Eastern time zone
