Job Summary**

As an Underwriting Specialist at our company, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the financial security of our clients by evaluating, pricing, and proposing rates and strategies for our Stop Loss business. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to excellence will contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional service and support to our clients and partners. **

Key Responsibilities**

  • Set up cases for Stop Loss clients with consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Evaluate, price, and recommend rates and strategies for Stop Loss new business within defined authority limits.
  • Manage workload to meet internal productivity standards and regional priorities.
  • Formulate strategies to write cases within underwriting guidelines.
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues and field representatives.
  • Analyze industry data and demographics to inform decision-making.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Input customer information accurately and efficiently into systems.
  • Identify and obtain necessary information for risk assessment and pricing.
  • Support the development of best practices and workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Underwriting experience desired, but not required.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage high-volume workloads.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Flexibility to adapt and learn in a dynamic environment.
