Job description

Logo JobgetherYour missions

For the past 25 years, Bullhorn has dedicated itself to building industry-leading, cloud-based software for the staffing and recruitment industry. Led by the original co-founder, partnered with venture capital, and powered by seasoned leaders across a global workforce with an eye toward innovation, Bullhorn has had year over year growth, making it the market leader in the recruitment software space while allowing for new opportunities for over 29% of our employees to advance their careers in the past 12 months.

We are a remote-first organization and over 38% of our employees reside outside the United States. Headquartered in Boston, we also have offices in London, Brighton, Rotterdam, Frankfurt and Sydney (just in case you’re in the area to stop by). Whether you’re local or remote, our vision is to ensure every employee has a sense of belonging, a voice that is heard, and a clear path for success. Your incredible experience as an employee will consist of flexible work hours to ensure a positive work-life balance and use Zoom, Slack, and other tools to stay connected.

As a Product Owner for Bullhorn, you will define and deliver key features for our Salesforce middle office products. You will work closely with customers, product leads, and agile teams to provide direction, guidance, and support from an idea’s inception to measuring its results. The product owner role requires in-depth product knowledge and an understanding of the Salesforce platform.

Why this job is important:

The Product Owner works closely with agile development teams and is the nexus between Product, Development and User Experience. As a PO, you will be responsible for making sure teams are working on the right things at the right time to deliver the best possible products to our customers. This includes serving as the primary expert on the product and communicating product goals with clarity and precision.

As a Product Owner, a typical day might include:

  • Breaking down complex ideas into tangible units of work that can be sized for effort.

  • Constructing story maps to help drive deployable sets of value.

  • Collaborating with your team in standups and beyond to answer questions, clear blockers, refine scope and make priority calls.

  • Writing concise and clear technical documentation that enables customer success, professional services, support, training, and our consulting partners to implement and configure product features effectively.

  • Training cross-functional teams on new product enablement.

  • Forcing definition of release and sprint goals with development team(s).

  • Managing and resolving customer & internally reported product escalations.

  • Ships new releases and communicates release value through clear and concise documentation.

  • Collaborating with development leads on ideas.

  • Working with product managers to understand strategic goals and any shifts in priority.

  • Constructing example data sets that can serve as success criteria for completed work.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Triaging escalated support and incoming service requests to reproduce and prioritize the backlog.

  • Serving as the voice of the customer by evaluating and validating that out work meets goals and produces results.

  • Working with development to determine effort estimates.

  • Communicating projected release of defect fixes.

  • Documenting fixes for inclusion in release notes.

  • Make recommendations for product enhancements/fixes based on reported issues, insight, and feedback.

  • Evaluating proposed solutions and adjusting the details based on experience/best judgment.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for our Salesforce products to assist externally facing Bullhorn colleagues.

In addition, you will find yourself:

  • Crafting Epics and introducing them to teams.

  • Developing a Story Plan and Reviewing Peers' Story Plans.

  • Reviewing the final product from developers and signing off.

  • Organizing Demos.

  • Coordinating Hot Fixes.

  • Reporting on results and KPIs.

This job might be for you if:

  • You've loved every moment of the 2-4 years you've spent working with products, getting into the weeds, and being a go-to expert for your product.

  • You enjoy collaborating with a team and have experience with Agile methodologies.

  • You like dissecting challenges and coming up with solutions.

  • You have a strong familiarity with Salesforce.

  • Numbers, formulas, and financial data don’t scare you in the least.

  • You have some technical chops, potentially from being a developer or QA in the past.

  • You love hearing “it’s complex” - you thrive on details and nuances.

  • You have a sense of grit and can rise to meet challenges.

  • You have the soft skills that enable you to communicate effectively with clients and empathize with their pain points.

Bonus points for:

  • Trailhead badges and certifications.

  • Experience working in a SaaS-based organization.

  • Experience in building process automation and AI products.

  • Experience working on CRM systems.

  • An undergraduate technical degree.

  • Experience with Bullhorn products.

  • Experience with staffing, workforce management, or financial systems like payroll, invoicing, ERP, or accounting.
