MTS, Software Engineer

Your day to day  

Design and Develop Scalable Systems: 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build highly scalable back-end and UI systems. 

• Utilize technologies such as Node.js, ReactJS, and Java to create robust and efficient solutions. 

Technical Problem Solving: 

• Analyze technical challenges related to notifications content management. 

• Apply keen judgment to select appropriate technologies for solving meaningful problems. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

• Work closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers. 

• Communicate effectively to articulate technical challenges and propose solutions. 

Remember, this role involves creating and serving user notifications content for millions of PayPal users, so your impact will be significant! 

What do you need to bring

• A successful candidate will be a strong engineer who can work in a high-performing team, creatively balance high-quality delivery with customer focus to meet business needs, has excellent communication skills, and has a continuous record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.  

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering software related to platforms using Node.js, ReactJS, and Java. Preferred experienced full-stack developer  

• Follows design principles of software engineering and systems and builds features to improve the platform and tools' availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency. 

• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development. 

• Proven experience guiding team members in adopting best practices and adhering to coding standards. 

• Deep understanding of software architecture and the ability to make informed decisions on technology choices and system design. 

• Proactively identifies opportunities for architectural improvements and collaborates with the team to implement them. 

• The candidate has hands-on experience designing and developing scalable web services and platforms.  

• Strong experience in some of the following technologies is highly desirable: Java, Node.js, ReactJS, and scripting.  

• Takes pride in working on projects to successful completion involving a wide variety of technologies and systems 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences. 

• Work cross-functionally with other engineering teams, QA, and project management teams.
