We're searching for a Senior Product Manager is to help guide the process of enhancing or developing new features for the product. You will define the Product Roadmap and refine its Features by investigating customer and internal stakeholder requirements, understanding existing and potentially new value-added capabilities, and outlining the correct strategy for implementation. Key for this role is to communicate effectively with the business owners and engineering staff to triangulate market/business needs with technical realities. The Senior Product Manager will be directly responsible for driving the agile process by participating in daily scrums, writing and explaining requirements, and providing status updates to the VP and other senior leaders. This role must also interact productively with cross-functional departments as well as understand and communicate out any dependencies on those departments.
Responsibilities:
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain a product roadmap that correlates financial performance with product market performance.
- Analyzes and understands the needs of product stakeholders
- Work with cross functional teams to define and establish work plans/processes for supporting products from inception to launch while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals on time.
- Ensure all teams involved buy in to the defined roles and responsibilities as well as understand cross-functional dependencies.
- Define the milestones and timelines for all teams to work toward and achieve.
- Define and document end-to-end process requirements (visual and narrative) in order to communicate to all teams involved in the process what will be required to support the product.
- Attain clear business value proposition understanding as well as pertinent ROI analyses.
- Create user stories and functional requirements
- Consistently manage and groom the Jira backlog to ensure work is ready for development team
- Develop and deliver industry presentations to executive-level and investment-oriented stakeholders
- Provides leadership to resolve product, quality or customer satisfaction problems.
- Facilitate the creation and on-going usage of product measurement process (financial, usage, adoption, distribution, market size, etc.) in order to create a quantitative basis for decision-making.
- Observes, learns and analyzes the market and business processes
- Observes, learns, and analyzes customers, internal and external end users of the product
- Contributes data for key performance indicators
- Ability to understand complex business problems and have a customer-focused attitude when creating solutions
- Be the “voice of the customer” when creating a technology solution
- Evaluate the current portfolio of products and services and assess value add as well as compatibility with overall strategy.
- Assists the Scrum team to groom the product backlog
- Participates in test phases (acceptance test creation, feature testing, stakeholder review) with Software Quality
- Contributes to and helps drive process improvement initiatives from the sprint retrospective
- Provide business and technical guidance in the areas of problem-solving, design, development, system and functional testing and implementation
- Ability to work on multiple tasks, prioritizing and organizing these tasks to maximize productivity
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team of other business and technical resources.
- Mentor junior team members
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or demonstrated industry hands-on experience in business to consumer e-commerce platforms
- 7+ years of work experience in the same/similar role
- Proven leadership in a matrix environment at executive levels
- Extensive experience creating business process and modeling documentation
- Expertise in the agile methodology
- Experience in the design and development of sophisticated, modern web applications and services
- Excellent skills in complex problem solving, project management and change management
- Understanding of relational database structures and fundamentals
