PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
TechnoServe is implementing the USAID-funded Alliance for Inclusive and Nutritious Food
Processing (AINFP) regional program in collaboration with Partners in Food Solutions (PFS).
The program leverages the power of the private sector to create better nutritional outcomes
for base-of-the-pyramid consumers and more profitable market opportunities for local
farmers. This is achieved by supporting local food processing companies in Ethiopia, Kenya,
Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia through remote technical assistance and training from worldleading food processing companies under PFS to increase the availability of safe, affordable,
and nutritious food.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The AINFP Program is seeking a skilled and experienced Graphic Designer to support in
designing the project collateral, informational and promotional material. The fixed contract
assignment involves the visual and creative representation of program information, client
activities, learning and close-out products for stakeholder communication of the AINFP
Program. The graphic designer will work with the communications team to produce clear,
attractive and modern visual designs to enhance the communication and packaging of
program activities, training, knowledge webinars, client profiles, infographics, and program
country factsheets as well as other program communication products in accordance with the
program’s marking and branding guide.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The Alliance for Inclusive and Nutritious Food Processing (AINFP) seeks a need basis
experience graphic designer to support current communications deliverables by delivering
high-quality visual representations (event and program flyers, facts sheets, social media,
templates, infographics, branding, and promotional material) to communicate program
activities and information for enhancing engagement with the donor (USAID), Food
processors supported by AINFP, staff and the food processing ecosystem.

SCOPE OF WORK
Deliverables
1. Developing program information flyers, infographics, event promotion material, social
media templates, report covers, video thumbnails, and other visual material for
program use
2. Creative design for enhancing program visual reporting and learning documentation
3. Guiding on the creative direction of program visual material and design products
4. Study design briefs and determine requirements
5. Conceptualize visuals for use on different platforms and publications
6. Work with the communications team to prepare rough drafts and present creative
ideas
7. Develop illustrations, layouts, and other designs using suitable software
8. Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
9. Work with copywriters and the Communications Manager to produce final designs
10. Test graphics across various media
11. Amend designs after feedback
12. Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on program/partner
brands

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Over 3-5 years of proven graphic designing experience
2. A strong portfolio of high-quality illustrations or other graphics
3. Experience working with multinational projects and brands
4. Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator,
Dreamweaver, and Photoshop)
5. A keen eye for aesthetics and details
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
8. Experience in working with USAID/donor program designs is a plus

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
AINFP seeks to work with an experienced and creative designer/firm on an 8-month
assignment to deliver the best quality visual communication material within the stated budget
lines.
