We deliver industry-vetted courses and career support centered on the needs of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, and low-income students. Our students train with senior engineers, intern at top companies, and rise together to become the tech leaders of tomorrow. About The Role

Location: Remote, United States

Duration: FTE

Reporting to: Senior Director of Programs and Community Engagement

Compensation: $100,000-125,000 per year

CodePath is on a mission to significantly scale our impact from 10,000 to 100,000 students annually, focusing on technical readiness and retention while optimizing costs. As a Senior Manager of Community Engagement, you will play a pivotal role in building a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community that empowers our students throughout their academic and professional journeys.

You will be the strategic leader and architect behind CodePath’s national, regional and local student community, focusing on creating sustainable and scalable engagement strategies. Your goal is to foster self-sustaining communities that enhance student-to-alumni transitions, encouraging them to become volunteers and mentors while establishing a clear progression roadmap to guide students from first contact through alumni engagement.

This role is responsible for creating and nurturing a vibrant student community that supports technical skill development, career readiness, and the successful completion of CodePath courses and programs to produce positive career outcomes. By fostering a sense of belonging and collaboration, you will help students maximize their learning experience and prepare for the tech industry.

 

Key Responsibilities

Engagement Strategy:

  • Build shared definition of community amongst CodePath internal team that provides clear definitions of community membership, retention and engagement life cycle

  • Create national engagement strategy and related pillars that is adaptable to fit regional and local university partner programs 

  • Create student engagement charter for CodePath university partner  programs that focuses on created structured, sustainable, and scalable practices

    • Build connections between university partner local  programs driving sense of belonging to larger university partner regional and national program 

    • With regional Community Engagement Managers, develop a university partner program student leadership structure that fosters a self-sustaining and scalable student community 

Student Engagement: 

  • Define and institute CodePath student values and norms

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to increase student engagement across various platforms, including the Career Center services, Slack channels, and in-course activities

  • With the marketing team, develop an awareness, enrollment and conversion campaign that can be customized to fit various CodePath course pathways including the university partner program

  • Build a roster of national, regional and local community events that engage the community in knowledge building, connections and build technical readiness

  • Develop and implement a student leadership structure at the national, regional and local level that fosters sustainability and scalability

Community Building: 

  • Utilize data and community insights to create peer-peer learning initiatives, and technical collaboration programs (open source contribution groups, etc.)  

  • With the Volunteer and Alumni Manager, expand the utilization of CodePath Mentor Network increasing mentorship opportunities within CodePath

  • With regional and local teams, develop the local university partner mentor initiative to include objectives, training and measurable outcomes 

  • Engage CodePath student leaders in workshops, trainings and access to resources that increase their ability to build community with CodePath 

  • Increase the utilization of Career Center services to prepare students for the job market, including resume workshops, interview prep, and networking events

  • Establish a sense of belonging with national, regional and local students producing evidence of peer connections across all levels

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience managing student engagement programs or retention programs in Higher Education or programs for college-aged students 

  • Evidence of designing, developing, and implementing successful programs 

  • Track record of developing and maintaining active communities

  • Experience successfully building and leading teams

  • Experience building and nurturing long-lasting and mutually productive professional relationships

  • Strong collaborator and team player who values giving and receiving feedback

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing professionalism, tact, and diplomacy

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • A proactive and resourceful mindset, willing to take initiative and problem-solve independently

  • Adept at learning and leveraging the latest productivity tools to drive operational efficiencies, such as Slack, Asana, Hubspot, ChatGPT, Zapier, CRMs, and various no-code and low-code tools

$100,000$125,000 USD
