About the role
We’re seeking a Senior Swift Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at YouGov. As key member, you’ll collaborate closely with our diverse product and design teams to build high-value features, drive the evolution of our architecture and system, and ensure the availability, scalability, and efficiency of our mobile application and services. You’ll mentor team members, foster technical excellence, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on impactful projects with high volumes of production traffic.
- Craft simple, maintainable code with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Champion testing strategies and implement automated tests to ensure product quality.
- Own your code from development to production through our self-service continuous delivery pipeline and production infrastructure.
- Lead technical discussions on system design and code architecture.
- Mentor team members to promote a culture of learning and growth.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential outages and issues.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance the overall system performance and reliability.
- Propose and contribute to process improvements to streamline development workflows.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of modern testing principles.
- Solid experience with our tech stack.
- Strong experience in mobile application development, with extensive programming experience in Swift.
- Passion for quality, operational excellence, and customer experience.
- Proficiency in Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of building large-scale, public-facing mobile applications.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience delivering complex mobile applications to end-users.
- Proven ability to mitigate technical debt.
- Familiarity with Android/Kotlin.
- Strong abstract thinking skills and ability to tackle ambiguous problems.
- Experience working remotely in a global environment.
- Proactive in risk identification and impact-centric problem-solving. • Contribution to open-source projects.
