Cloud Engineering Lead

We are looking for a Cloud Engineering Lead who will play a pivotal role in leading our Cloud Engineering team towards building resilient infrastructure solutions, fostering collaboration between development and ops teams, and ensuring high morale and satisfaction within the team.

At Neptune, we have quite an ambitious goal of becoming an MLOps standard for data scientists worldwide. Our platform is a lightweight experiment tracker for ML teams that struggle with debugging and reproducing experiments, sharing results, and messy model handover. Don’t worry, you don’t need to have ML skills. Our customers handle that part.

We design Neptune to be extensible, flexible, and lightweight to ensure it fits any workflow and keeps up with this fast-paced field. Some of the things we do are pretty run-of-the-mill engineering work (REST, SQL, NoSQL), but often, we stumble upon a bigger challenge! After all, how many companies have implemented a custom scalable time-series storage moving data between various underlying storages?

Our tech stack:

In this role, you will:

• Provide Technical Leadership: take end-to-end ownership of projects (including hands-on development), ensuring delivery in line with business requirements;
• Establish 24/7 Support Service for self-hosted customers, coordinating planning and implementation efforts to ensure seamless support operations;
• Enhance the CI/CD tooling: drive improvements in the current CI/CD tooling to streamline the testing cycle time and enhance the Engineering team’s satisfaction;
• Improve Collaboration and Communication: enhance the Cloud Engineering team’s collaboration and communication processes to ensure a productive work environment
• Advocate for DevOps culture and implement best practices and new tools or processes.

 

We are looking for:

• 10+ years of experience in Site Reliability, Backend Engineering or similar roles;
• 2+ years of experience leading and mentoring Cloud/SRE teams;
• Demonstrated hands-on proficiency in Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and Google Cloud Platform or Azure;
• Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (we use Gitlab and Github), containerization, and automation tools;
• Ability to architect and implement scalable, robust, and secure infrastructure solutions;
• Experience in planning and coordinating support and on-call services;
• Experience in working with self-hosted environments managed by customers;
• Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• Flexibility, getting things done approach, and a high level of ownership;
• Basic knowledge of project management skills and tools;
• Communicative spoken and written English.
