We are looking for a highly motivated Engineering Manager with a track record of leading high performing engineering teams. You will own our mission-critical Disbursements systems, which are responsible for ensuring our merchant and investor partners are paid on time and correctly. Each day, these highly-complex systems move over $100 million to hundreds of thousands of Affirm's partners! Top candidates should have a long-term system health mindset, with the understanding that ensuring the proper function of these systems is your primary responsibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and grow an engineering team responsible for payment routing to our hundreds of thousands of merchant and investor partners.

  • Mentor engineers on the team to help improve their designs, code quality, and testing.

  • Own availability and performance of your team’s systems.

  • Partner with product managers to design and build clean APIs which can serve current and future use cases.

  • Work with your team to develop beautiful internal API documentation and test environments to enable rapid financial product development

  • Partner with a diverse set of engineering teams who build financial products and perform financial transactions at the company.

  • Collaborate with critical stakeholders across the company, including Accounting, Capital Markets, Treasury, and more.

  • Build relationships and engage with management across the USA and Europe.

 

What We Look For

  • 1+ years managing high performing engineering teams

  • 7+ years in software engineering roles

  • Prior experience growing and managing a high performing engineering team.

  • Fluency in back end development.

  • Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining enterprise scale products.

  • Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills.

  • Prior experience in a fintech or in the financial industry in general a plus

Pay Grade - USA 31

Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range.

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year:

Min: $190,000

Mid: $237,500

Max: $284,900


USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year:

Min: $171,000

Mid: $213,000

Max: $256,500
