Here at DotCollective, we think creatively about technology and eCommerce; delivering innovative digital solutions of all shapes and sizes. We love envisioning how people will experience eCommerce, allowing for more personalised, socially connected, and smooth experiences.

After launching in 2016, we’ve built hundreds of eCommerce sites for some of the best in the business - partnering with Australian and global retailers such as Decjuba, Aje, Incu, Tony Bianco, Scanlan Theodore, Viktoria & Woods, and larger groups such as Brand Collective; Brandbank & Globe to name a few. We’re passionate about creating amazing, pixel-perfect, and meaningful digital experiences. Sounds exciting? That’s because it is! And it’s where you come in…

Who is a UI/UX Designer at DotCollective?

As a UI/UX Designer at DotCollective, you are excited about establishing brands as industry leaders in eCommerce through well-produced and intelligently designed stores.

Working closely with the Design Lead and UI Designer or sometimes solo, you’ll help transform user insights into smart, innovative, and creative concepts. You will thoughtfully design experiences that are clear, accessible, and delightful; using data to make meaningful design choices.

With your UX Design thinking, clients and the team at DotCollective will rely on your ability to think outside of the box. You are someone who can draw from various sources of data to paint an empathetic picture of the customer and their user journey navigating through a website.

As a UI/UX Designer, you’ll also naturally mentor other designers and share knowledge on design methods, tools, and trends with the rest of your team. You’ll help our team navigate ambiguity; negotiate decisions and support our designers when they feel out of their depth in the space.

You also enjoy taking an active role in contributing to our design culture and practices - with a 'here to help' attitude. You absolutely, fundamentally believe that we're better together.

So, that all sounds nice, but what will you be doing day-to-day?

Requirements

As a UI/UX Designer at DotCollective, you will be responsible for:

  • Orchestrating what best practice design looks like within the team
  • Creating beautiful and functional websites
  • Partnering with our UX Lead and Tech Leads to come up with the best solutions to user problems and client needs
  • Understanding user data to empathize with the end user
  • Jumping in UX/customer research to better understand how a customer navigates a website
  • Developing high-quality and organized design systems and creative concepts (prototypes)
  • Turning client brand guidelines and objectives into tangible on-brand designs, even when they don’t necessarily fit with your own personal aesthetic
  • Leading creative & UX workshops as well as reviews
  • As the subject matter specialist, help educate clients on best practice UI & UX practices
  • Helping others in the team where necessary and also asking for help when you don’t know something yourself

What skills do you need?

  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Must be at a senior designer level
  • A user-centered, solution, and result mindset
  • Be flexible in the face of changing requirements throughout the design process
  • Expert knowledge of Figma

Benefits

Why work with us?

A career at DotCollective stretches you in all the right places. That’s because we’re always looking forward – future-proofing eCommerce requires futuristic skills! You’ll flex and grow here; we don’t believe in boxes. We’ll help you design the kind of role, career, and work-life where you can be your best.

Also, when we say flex, we mean it. Work-from-home is here to stay. We’re Australian remote-first (and loving it!). But we also have a co-working off in Melbourne, so when you do want that face-to-face time, we have a space ready to go.

Do work you're proud of.
