The Account Manager II oversees assigned builder accounts with the responsibility to develop short- and long-range goals and lead Generac clients to achieve objectives. This role acts as the primary corporate contact to manage relationships, execute new growth strategies, integrate field efforts, and uphold margins with key accounts. This role is also responsible for identifying and capturing new opportunities and leads, and to close sales for Generac to achieve/exceed financial objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Create and manage a book of business that includes national single and multifamily builders. - Develop and present national builder programs to C Suite members of Builder organizations. - Effectively implement national builder programs throughout Builder organizations on a regional and national scale. - Attend and represent Generac at regional and national builder events and organizations. - Work collaboratively with multiple departments and channels within the organization such as: - Dealer and EW Inside Sales - Territory Development Managers within the Dealer Channel - Regional Development Manager within Electrical Wholesale - Train and educate designers/sales agents at Builder’s design centers to teach how to upsell Generac product from good, better, best – resulting in stronger sales and profit for both the Builder and Generac. - Utilize a pre-call planning and post call follow up approach to all customer activity, and documents activity in Salesforce.com – ensuring activity is accurate and up to date - Identify and understand competitive landscape, inclusive of product and distribution actively shares these findings appropriately.
Minimal Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience - 4 years of builder or architectural sales experience - Ability to travel 50% - (includes mileage reimbursement)
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with national production builders and builder oriented buying groups
Knowledge/Skills: - Knowledge of sales, best practices, business processes, project management, and commercial systems; - Excellent sales, interpersonal, management, motivation and analytical skills; - Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills; - Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Frequent travel.
