Atlantic Liability Specialist (Casualty)

The Protect Liability Specialist role is to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims in accordance with Aviva's procedures and philosophy. We have a strong focus on strategic indemnity and expense management, in addition to excellent customer service. What you'll Do

• Interpret and confirm insurance coverages

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle Casualty claims with claimants or their representatives

• Direct and manage file investigations and if required instruct IAs as needed

• Ensure file reserves are timely and accurate

• Proactively manage communication with our customers and stakeholders

• Clearly document and summarize file activity

• Understand and support Aviva’s claim procedures and guidelines

• Regular and proactive reviews files strategy plans

What you’ll bring:

• University degree or equivalent

• CIP or working towards CIP. Currently licensed or qualifies to be licensed to handle Casualty Claims in all Atlantic Provinces

• Experience with Property Damage Liability claims

• Strong working knowledge of litigation environment (Litigation Assistant, Para-legal)

• Bilingual French and English is a strong asset

• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Strong working knowledge of Personal and Commercial liability claims

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills

• Well-developed organizational skills

• Adaptability, flexibility and integrity

• Committed team player with a positive outlook and sense of humor
